A shareholder lawsuit unsealed late Thursday accuses Musk and his board of violating his 2000 and 18 settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission over his Twitter habits.

木曜日遅くに公開された株主訴訟は、マスク氏と彼の取締役会が、彼のツイッターの習慣をめぐって2000年と18年に米国証券取引委員会と和解したことに違反していると非難しています。

The legal complaint cites Musk quote, erratic tweets, including a post last May that Tesla stock price was quote too high and that the failure of Tesla's board to monitor his tweets as required by the SEC settlement have exposed shareholders to billions of dollars of losses.

訴状には、昨年5月の「テスラの株価は高すぎる」という投稿をはじめとする、マスク氏の引用された不規則なツイートが記載されており、テスラ社の取締役会がSECの和解案で要求されている通りにマスク氏のツイートを監視しなかったことで、株主は数十億ドルの損失を被ったとしています。

The shareholder complaint seeks to have Musk and other Tesla directors pay damages to the company for breaching their fiduciary duties.

今回の株主代表訴訟は、マスク氏をはじめとするテスラの取締役が受託者責任に違反したとして、同社に損害賠償を求めるものです。

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

なお、テスラ社からはコメントを求められてもすぐには答えられませんでした。

Musk agreed to give up the chairman role and have his tweets monitored as part of the SEC settlement stemming from a controversial tweet in August 2018, when he claimed he had quote funding secured to take the electric carmaker private.

マスク氏は、2018年8月に電気自動車メーカーを非公開にするための見積もり資金を確保したと主張して物議を醸したツイートに端を発するSEC和解の一環として、会長職を返上し、ツイートを監視されることに同意しました。
