I came all the way to New York City to talk to you about the pronunciation of the word city.

わざわざニューヨークまで来て、街の発音の話をしてきました。

This is a word that I hear mispronounced a lot in my students.

これは私の生徒さんでもよく誤字脱字を耳にする言葉です。

There are two reasons.

理由は2つあります。

One.

The vowel in the stressed syllable.

強調された音節の中の母音。

That should be it, not e uh, The tongue isn't as close to the roof of the mouth see, So there's just a little bit more space between the tongue and the roof of the mouth for the it as and sit vowel and just a little bit more jaw drop.

It's a little bit more relaxed than that.
