So today I'm going to give you 12 Beautiful Words that are synonyms for the word "Beautiful."

今日は「Beautiful」という言葉の同義語である 12 の美しさを表す言葉をお届けします。

I have some words that are better for you than just to say "Beautiful."

ただ「Beautiful」と言うよりも、良い言葉がいくつかあります。

These are very helpful when you're trying to express different nuances when you mean to express that something looks special or incredible.

これらは、さまざまなニュアンスを表現しようとしているときや、何か特別または信じられないようなものに見えることを表現しようとしているときに非常に役立ちます。

So by the end of this lesson, you'll be able to express yourself better and have a wider vocabulary.

And kind of from now on use them instead of the word "beautiful."

So the first word I have for your today is the word Alluring.

では今日の最初の言葉は、「Alluring（うっとりさせるような・魅力的な）」という言葉です。

And alluring is something that's mysteriously attractive or that's fascinating.

「Alluring」は、なにかミステリアスに魅力的なものや、興味をそそられるようなものに使います。

So, when I say that something is alluring I'm kind of drawn to it.

つまり、何かが「alluring」というとき、それに惹きつけられているようなことを意味するのです。

So kind of attracted and I want to kind of get to it.

惹かれている感じで、手にしたいと思っているようなことです。

That's an alluring dessert.

これは「alluring」なデザートね。

The second word I have for you today is Exquisite.

今日の２番目の言葉は「Exquisite（優美な・上品な）」です。

And exquisite is something that is very special.

「Exquisite」は、なにか特別なもののことです。

Of special beauty and rare.

もしくは、特別な美で、レアなもの。

So when you want to say that something is very rare or very, very, very special.

ですから、何かがとてもレアで本当にとても特別だと言いたいとき、

We say that it is exquisite.

「exquisite」と言います。

The architecture in the Temple de Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is exquisite.

バルセロナのサグラダファミリア寺院の建築はこの上なく素晴らしい（exquisite）です。

Number 3 - Lovely

３番目。「Lovely（すてき）」

Lovely means very pleasant or enjoyable.

「Lovely」は、とても感じが良いことや、または楽しいことを意味します。

Lovely is kind of a soft word.

「Lovely」はなんだかソフトな言葉ね。

So when you want to express something that's not like extremely beautiful, but still really, really nice...

だから、極端に美しいわけではないけれど、それでも本当に本当に素敵なものを表現したいとき・・・

We say lovely.

「Lovely」と言います。

We had a lovely picnic at the park.

私たちは公園で素敵なピクニックをしました。

Number 4 - Stunning

４番目。「Stunning（見事な・すばらしい）」

Now stunning is very different than lovely.

「Stunning」は、「lovely」とはかなり違います。

Where lovely was a little soft, stunning is strong.

「Lovely」は少しソフトだった一方で、「stunning」は強いのです。

It means very impressive or attractive.

それはとても印象的、または魅力的であることを意味します。

So if somebody is stunning or if something is stunning, it means that it kind of shocks you with it's beauty.

ですから、誰かが素晴らしかったり（stunning）、何かが素晴らしかった（stunning）なら、その美しさであなたに衝撃を与えることを意味します。

Her wedding dress was stunning.

彼女のウェディングドレスは見事だった。

Number 5 - Magnificent

５番目「Magnificent（壮大な）」

Magnificent means impressively beautiful or extravagant.

「Magnificent」は、印象に残るほど美しいまたは贅沢なことを意味します。

This is a word I really like because many times it's used to describe nature.

これは私が本当に好きな言葉です。なぜなら、自然を説明するためによく使用されているからです。

Of course you can use magnificent with people as well.

もちろん「magnificent」を人に使うこともできますよ。

So, it really means extremely impressive.

つまり、これは本当にかなり印象的なことを意味するのです。

For example, you can say...

たとえば・・・

The view from the top of the mountain was magnificent.

山頂からの眺めは壮大で素晴らしかった。

Number 6 is Splendid.

６番目は「Splendid（華麗な・壮大な）」です。

And splendid really is just a synonym for magnificent.

「Splendid」は本当に「magnificent」の同義語です。

So it can be used interchangeably.

ですから、同じ意味で使えます。

But it's really mostly used for nature or objects rather than people.

しかし、実際には人ではなく自然や物に主に使用されています。

I picked up a splendid flower bouquet for our apartment.

私はアパートのために、綺麗な花の花束を手に入れました。

Number 7 - Appealing

７番目。「Appealing（魅力的な）」

Appealing is attractive or interesting.

「Appealing 」は魅力的、もしくは興味深いものです。

I would say appealing is many times used to describe food.

「Appealing」は食べ物を説明するためによく使われていると思います。

We really definitely use, "Oh this looks appealing" or "This doesn't look appealing to me."

本当に間違いなく「これは魅力的（appealing）だ」または「これは私には魅力的（appealing）ではない」と言います。

So you will definitely hear it in that context.

だから間違いなく、その文脈でこの言葉を聞くでしょう。

The strawberries looked very appealing, so I got two boxes.

いちごがとても魅力的だったので、2箱買いました。

Number 8 is Attractive.

８番目。「Attractive（魅力的な）」

And attractive means very pleasing to the eye.

「Attractive：は、目にとても心地よいことを意味します。

You can use attractive to describe both men and women.

「Attractive」は男性・女性の両方を表すのに使えます。

It can be used for objects as well.

物にも使えますよ。

But it's mainly used to say that someone's good looking.

しかし、それは主に誰かの見た目が良いと言うために使われます。

My husband is a very attractive man.

私の主人はとても魅力的（attractive）な男性です。

Number 9 is Charming.

９番は「Charming（魅力的な）」です。

And charming means pleasant or attractive with a great personality.

「Charming」とは、感じの良いこと、または素晴らしい個性があり魅力的な様子を意味します。

It can be used to describe both objects and people.

物と人の両方を表すのに使えます。

We spent Christmas Eve in a charming little cottage by the water.

私たちはクリスマスイブを、水辺のチャーミング（charming）な小さなコテージで過ごしました。

Number 10 is Superb.

１０番目は「Superb（素晴らしい）」です。

And superb means excellent and splendid.

「Superb」とは、優れていること、素晴らしいことを意味します。

It's really just very, very beautiful.

ただ、本当にとても綺麗なもののことね。

The little girl had a superb singing voice.

その少女は素晴らしい（superb）歌声をしている。

Number 11 - Gorgeous

11番目。「Gorgeous（ゴージャス・煌びやかな）」

Gorgeous means beautiful and very attractive.

「Gorgeous」は、美しく魅力的なことを意味します。

And it's...I would say it's mostly used for women.

そして、主に女性に使われている言葉だと思います。

But it can also be used for nature and objects.

しかし、自然や物に対しても使えますよ。

We stopped to look at the gorgeous sunset.

素晴らしい夕日を見るために、足を止めました。

Number 12 - and I really like this one - is Ravishing.

12番。私は本当にこの言葉が好きなのですが、「Ravishing（魅惑的）」です。

Ravishing means delightful, entrancing.

「Ravishing」とは、心地よく、うっとりさせるようなことを意味します。

I would almost say disarming.

敵意を取り除くような感じとも言えるかもしれません。

It's such a beautiful word. I love it.

とても美しい言葉ですね。大好きです。

Her ravishing smile lit up the room.

彼女の魅惑的な笑顔が、部屋のムードを明るくした。
