Lovecraft Country creator Misha Green has been tapped to write and direct the Tomb Raider sequel.

Alicia Vikander will reprise her role as Lara Croft, the video game adventurer who first debuted in 1996 and was previously played by Angelina Jolie and to live action films.

Green shared her excitement on Twitter.

A photo from the upcoming film Spencer, in which Stuart plays the late Royal, has been released, and the resemblance is uncanny.

Holiday with the royal family and decides to end her tumultuous marriage to Prince Charles.

Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins and Sean Harris will also star in the film, which is set to be released this fall.

Another spy, Kids Reboot, is in the works, with original writer director Robert Rodriguez returning to restart the movie franchise.

The first Spy Kids movie centered on Carmen and Juni Cortez to young kids, unaware that their parents worked for the Organization of Super Spies, which eventually leads the Children to join the family business of espionage.

Spy Kids had three Sequels and was first rebooted as an animated television series in 2018.

Spyglass Media, which owns the Spy Kids franchise, will oversee production alongside Rodriguez for this new installment that will revolve around the activities of a multicultural family.

It's Black History Month any great opportunity to dive into the films that captured the diverse narratives of the black experience here to guide us through some films that celebrate Black Joy is editor at Rotten Tomatoes.

Hey, Jacqueline Jail, so glad to be back.

Hey, welcome back, Jacqueline.

Why did you want to make a list that celebrates this feeling?

Black joy is something that I really think maybe it's a bit of a short shift in cinema because for us many incredible films on the black experience that we have like moonlight and things like Night Comes On and all these like, really, I think in depth movies The Color Purple, where there's a lot of strife and pain that happens to these characters.

I just wanted to have a list of films where we can have a moment of reverently and sort of like celebrate the black experience where we can show that our stories are viable, important and really entertaining, and they don't have to be attached to any kind of pain.

What symptoms that you really wanted to highlight from that list.

It's actually interesting that you point that out, because the first film that sort of inspired this list is a film that's on Netflix, and it stars Jessica Williams, and it's called the incredible Jessica James.

This is a film that premiered at Sundance a couple of years ago.

Jessica Williams folks will recognize from her time at The Daily Show.

She's become an incredible actress writer, I think soon to be director, and she plays this sort of like New York girl who's just trying to exist in a world you know, it is very sort of in that messy bit of your twenties trying to figure out who you are and who you want to love, and it's just a very simple story about her, you know, owning who she is as a carefree black girl.

I think folks who are fans of something like Insecure will feel right at home with the incredible Jessica James.

And, yeah, it's still available on Netflix.

And in sort of compiling this list, it was great to revisit the films that weren't just like straight comedies, but also still made me laugh.

I think a great example of this is actually Rick Follow Emma's Dope, which is amazing film.

This was she MEK more before into the Spider Verse, which is actually another one of these films that I put on there about black joy, because who in the world does not experience joy when you see Miles Morales leap off the building for the first time in sort of like embrace his power?

And there's another film that it's actually on there, and it sort of has a sad, more remembrance.

But it's also a celebratory one, and that is baps B.

And this, of course, stars Halle Berry in her iconic outfits alongside her co star Natalie Decile and unfortunately, Natalie recently passed away due to cancer.

But it's still a great film to revisit.

Directed by Robert Townsend.

And it's what I like to call the black version of Maybe Like Romy and Michele.

Just two best friends who may be the world doesn't get, but they get each other Now.

Ron Tomatoes curated a list of the best black films of the 21st century.

What separates the 21st century from the 20th century?

So the 21st Century.

We're essentially talking about any film after the year 2000 going forward, and these are the new sort of, I would say, contemporary black films, one that I particularly Love is one of my all time favorite movies from that time and sort of kicks it Off is Love and Basketball.

This was directed by Gina Prince Bythewood, who folks will remember more recently directed Charlize Theron in The Old Guard.

This was actually her directorial debut, which was executive produced by Spike Lee.

She sort of wrote the story as kind of semi autobiographical as she was also an athlete, sort of looking to find love when she was spending her time at U.

A you know you have this comprehensive list, but I wanna know what are your absolute favorites from the list?

Eso hard, like I really like it.

It is.

It is really hard.

Of course I want to mention a film like Moonlight three time Oscar winner.

What Barry Jenkins did with that film was incredible, but also his other film, If Bill Street Could Talk, which was his follow up to Moonlight, which one?

Regina King?

Her first Oscar win.

And I'm also going to go ahead and add in one more, which is a brand new one.

And that is One Night in Miami, which is directed by Regina King.

It is her feature directorial debut after years of being a television director.

And so I just sort of like Wove a little Barry Jenkins, Regina King land at One Night in Miami, a sort of tale, and one more.

I would be remiss if I didn't, especially since she's like sitting right here over my shoulder mentioned Beyonce, Homecoming or black is king, whichever one of those you wanna you wanna go to.

You know, we always have to have Beyonce.

Writer director Spike Lee and actor Daniel Yellow received Oscar nominations for the film.

And at the ceremony that year, actress Kim, basing her famously admonished Hollywood for not nominating the film.

For Mawr, also available to watch on demand on Friday is falling.

You know, Mom's not here, you forget because you're too old.

Falling follows John, played by Viggo Mortensen, who lives with his partner, Eric, and their daughter, Monica, in California, far from the traditional rural life he left behind years ago.

Meanwhile, his conservative father, Willis, lives alone on the isolated farm where John grew up in the early stages of dementia.

Willis is brought to John's California home toe Help him relocate.

Unfortunately, their best intentions ultimately run up against Willis is adamant refusal to change his way of life in the slightest All right, Well, that's it for today.
