  • [Music]

  • This week's Music Monday is the saviour edition

  • with Bang Yong Gook's "I Remember"

  • [music]

  • We're really excited to review this song,

  • because it's not often that we review a rap/rock song.

  • Most mainstream rap is about how badass your are

  • But this song is about the pangs of lost love

  • and how this guy has been ruined as a result of it.

  • The video actually really surprised us,

  • not because it's groundbreaking or shocking,

  • But because the lyrics and the video actually relate to each other.

  • That's fantastic!

  • Also, the acting was amazing!

  • The screaming, the fighting, the crazy looks in the eyes!

  • And when was the last time you saw such a passionate kiss

  • in a Korean music video?

  • Yup, it was just a lot of face mashing,

  • and not a lot of lip movement,

  • but still: it's much better than what we're used to, right?

  • [music]

  • DING!

  • I told you to never go without me!

  • DING!

  • DING!!

  • DING!!!

  • DING!!!!

  • DING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DING!

  • And there's lots of violence

  • BAM! Did you see the back of that guy's head get blown out?

  • Yeah, this music video definitely got banned,

  • but for once we can actually understand the reason why.

  • But as much as I loved the video, there was one thing that really disappointed me.

  • See, I was excited to hear that the tiny guy from B2ST was gonna sing the chorus,

  • because he's actually my favorite member of B2ST.

  • But he never showed up in the video, which sucks,

  • because I had a whole slew of clever jokes lined up

  • Such as.

  • Ahem.

  • B2STB2STB2STB2STB2STB2ST

  • You see what I'm saying? This was going to be comedic gold!

  • Anyhow, despite the passion and awesomeness of this video

  • its unclear ending had a lot of people confused by it.

  • Why are they screaming at each other at one time

  • and snuggling in the next.

  • Why was he rescuing her? Was she kidnapped by somebody?

  • But, believe it or not, there's a really simple explanation behind it all.

  • U-Kiss called, and they want their room back.

  • Oh yes, DongHo doesn't mess around.

  • You saw how mad he was last week at Chunji in Don't Spray Perfume,

  • How do you think Chunji's girlfriend knew he'd be at a club with another woman?

  • I'll tell you how: Teen Top used U-Kiss' room without permission,

  • So to get even, DongHo set Chunji up.

  • And now in this video we see two foolish people

  • break into the U-Kiss room, and make the fatal mistake

  • of shooting up DongHo's favorite piano.

  • You know the one: where DongHo and his invisible girlfriend - Dialtone - hang out.

  • So, now these two are screaming and freaking out

  • trying to figure out how to escape revenge from DongHo.

  • And so, they try to enjoy their last moments together,

  • before DongHo sends his goonies to punish them.

  • Moral of the story:

  • get a new freaking set for your music videos because I never want to see that brick room again.

  • OONT! Then who will pay for all my Bling Bling?

  • BROHOHO BROHOHO BROHOHO!

  • But seriously, this video was like a puzzle,

  • and if you watch it a few times,

  • you'll see a lot of pieces put together

  • that kind of reveal a deeper meaning.

  • What we've come up with as our final conclusion:

  • the main guy from the beginning of the video

  • is actually dead from the beginning of the video,

  • but he doesn't fully realize it yet.

  • He's determined to go save his girlfriend,

  • but he doesn't realize that this whole scene is already way over,

  • He's already tried to save her before,

  • and we're not really sure if she's dead or not,

  • But since this is a Korean Music video,

  • there's a 99.99 percent chance that she already died,

  • because pretty much everybody dies in sad Korean music videos.

  • He's already been shot up by the police.

  • I'm sorry, not the police.

  • The construction paper Swat team with that lopsided sign

  • on the side of their van that looks really awkward

  • Quality!

  • Anyways, it explains why you periodically see him stop

  • and grab his head in confusion.

  • Then we'll see really quick fleeting images, kind of like a flashback,

  • of his bloody body or a police siren,

  • but then he kind of shakes his head and denies that,

  • and continues his mission to save the girl,

  • but, we think that he's kind of trapped in a neverending cycle of memories

  • and he's always going to be stuck in this personal hell

  • of trying to save the girl.

  • I'm not gonna lie. The first time I saw this video

  • I actually teared up at the ending.

  • I haven't been this moved by a music video

  • since UV's "Itaewon Freedom"

  • So deep.

  • [music]

  • Since this is a rock/rap song,

  • there really isn't a dance to it,

  • and it'd probably be weird if there was,

  • unless you count flailing arms and gritting teeth and headbanging,

  • which we don't.

  • [music]

  • As for the English of the song, we give this a

  • 5 out of 5

  • There are a bunch of English lyrics peppered throughout the song,

  • Like most Korean songs which have a few English words here and there,

  • but none of them are terrible or mispronounced,

  • so we have no choice but to give it a 5 out of 5.

  • [music]

  • Last week we asked you who would make the ideal boyfriend,

  • Dirty cheating scumbag Chunji from Teen Top's "Don't Spray Perfume"

  • Or SHINee from Hello Hello, all of them.

  • and I'm happy to report that ChunJi lost.

  • ONG BAK! ONG BAK!

  • Anyways, a lot of people mentioned

  • that they thought that would be cheating

  • if they dated all the members of SHINee,

  • so wouldn't it be the same,

  • but we were not saying that you'd date them all at the same time,

  • we're just saying you can choose any of the members!

  • Great job SHINee!

  • For this week's Savior edition, we ask you who tries to be the better savior:

  • the guy from "I Remember,"

  • Or the guy from Brown Eyed Girls' "Sign"

  • Leave your votes in the comments, or in our Facebook poll,

  • and we'll announce the winners next week.

  • Also, thanks to all the B2TIES that requested "I Remember"

  • Because I know a lot of B2ST fans requested this video.

  • If there's a video you want to see us do for next week's Kpop Music Monday,

  • TOO BAD! Because next week's our One Year Anniversary Edition

  • and we're doing a video that WE want to do,

  • Yay!

  • Oh yes, it's going to be epic.

  • Oh yes, it's going to be unfathomably awesome!

  • and, oh yes, there will be prizes for our subscribers,

  • so make sure that you subscribe for more Kpop Music Mondays,

  • take it away Spudgy!
