字幕表 動画を再生する 英語字幕をプリント - As the 2020 presidential election heats up, some Facebook users are saying that President Donald Trump is getting some support from some of your favorite fast food restaurants. For Democrats that means it's time for a boycott. Is this true or a whopper of a tale? It's time for the Truth-O-Meter Minute. Hey everyone, I'm Daniel Funke with Politifact. Since many of them offer drive thru lanes, fast food restaurants are well equipped to serve customers during the coronavirus pandemic. But one popular Facebook post says that if you're voting blue in November, you might wanna rethink that Wendy's or Taco Bell fix. The CEO of the company that owns Wendy's, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut donated $400,000 towards Trump's reelection campaign. Another Facebook post said that for Democrats Wendy's is canceled, but is it? We followed the money. The posts trace to one executive in particular. His name is James Bodenstedt, and he is a generous supporter of President Trump's reelection effort. Just during the 2020 campaign cycle Bodenstedt has made donations to 44 organizations supporting President Trump's reelection effort. So far, these donations total more than $500,000. Business Insider reported that Bodenstedt has also advised President Trump on the restaurant sector's struggles during the coronavirus pandemic. Bodenstedt is the founder of Muy Brands, which owns several locations for Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Wendy's in the Southwestern United States. But Bodenstedt is not the CEO of Yum Brands, which owns Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Muy is Yum spelled backwards. The actual CEO of Yum Brands is David Gibbs, who has not been a big political donor. Neither has Wendy's CEO, Todd Penegor. Time for the verdict. This Facebook post rates mostly false.
