Disney and Pixar just announced their next animated film and it's Cars 4 just kidding!
After "Onward" and "Soul", we're getting another original film; there's no princess or female lead,
it stars a young boy named Luca which also is the title of the movie.
We don't have much information but we do know that the story will follow the young boy Luca
who lives in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera.
It's a coming of age story about a boy experiencing an unforgettable summer.
It's great to see Pixar is still working hard to create amazing films even during COVID.
You may not know the directors name but you probably know his work.
Enrico Casaroa directed the beautiful animated short La Luna in 2012 and now he is taking
on his own feature film.
He talked about the project saying “This is a deeply personal story for me, not only
because it's set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of
this film is a celebration of friendship.
Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become and it is those bonds
that are at the heart of our story in 'Luca, “So in addition to the beauty and charm
of the Italian seaside, our film will feature an unforgettable summer adventure that will
fundamentally change Luca.”
There is one thing that no one knows about Luca...
Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened
by a deeply-held secret: He is a sea monster from another world just below the water's
surface.
Talk about plot twist!
I can't wait to see what they do with this concept when it hits theaters Summer 2021,
hopefully theaters, but it is coming!
What are you most excited to see in Luca?
