  • I'm Norm.

  • This is my brother.

  • And you literally never held a camera.

  • No, not ever gonna change that today also.

  • Look out, Tiny.

  • This whole thing is so narrow.

  • So since my brother has never held a camera before in his life, I thought I'd be good to bring out my buddy Lucas Lucas is in charge today.

  • Where you taking us Out to first?

  • We're going to hear Shrine here.

  • You actually, like run a workshop based on this, don't you?

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  • So I usually take people there, but we're not gonna do like everything that we usually do.

  • But I'll show you like the highlights, but he's gonna learn how to use a camera today, right?

  • I'm so excited about that.

  • Started with a phone, and then graduates.

  • Can I just hope it goes well, what I like about it, it's not a tourist.

  • It's like a little bit of a hidden trying Pretty big.

  • Makes a good shooting because you get unique shots and then you have people to kind of content with its my favorites, right?

  • Not that many shrines there with Listen to those cicadas.

  • Oh, I love it.

  • Let me turn this a little.

  • What's the plan for today?

  • Plan is to get Alex from almost no photography experience to three fantastic shots in, you know, 20 minutes.

  • Okay, so you are already in there taking some photos.

  • How do you feel that?

  • It turned out they were okay.

  • Can you do better Hope so.

  • Enough of that.

  • How did it feel?

  • Pretty good.

  • Do you feel like you have a better understanding?

  • A lot better than they did when they were three locations.

  • We went to their starting in the first location.

  • What transpired, right.

  • The first thing we did Waas composing the shot.

  • You sort of like, you know, get the whole thing, and it's kind of buttered right?

  • What?

  • I want to teach you how to change your perspective on things and focus on the details.

  • And then those details, together with a couple of shots, tell the story way focused on a very crisp and like, well thought out compositions.

  • That was the first step is like a perfect phone shot.

  • What you want to do is get it, like, flush like this.

  • And then because we want to detail benefit of a phone, it focuses really close already already a great start.

  • 30 seconds encouraging, getting closer or getting into a perspective that is not the typical, which is usually far back getting the whole thing.

  • So the second spot.

  • We took that first concept a little bit further, and now we included multiple layers, right?

  • We had a close thing and we brought out.

  • Camera is kind of a frame for the shop to give it that extra element.

  • Extra dimensions.

  • Do the camera thing from camera settings.

  • There's something mysterious about a little bit blurry and soft away.

  • We walk yet, but not quite enough, right?

  • That's like three shots in and you're already upgrading to camera.

  • Are you ready for this?

  • I'm ready.

  • I think I have a camera in my bag.

  • Try it out.

  • Absolutely.

  • Alexander, get to use my backup camera today.

  • Haven't even opened up strapped for it yet.

  • And it's hot, right?

  • Alexander, are you ready to be anointed?

  • I'm ready.

  • I think we need some really epic music for this moment.

  • Let's try.

  • Is it too much?

  • Too much.

  • All right, let's just do that way.

  • Camera.

  • You don't need to without any other setting.

  • Try to do the same shot just like you do with a very good What did you think of using the camera?

  • Phone it a lot easier to figure it out once I knew what to do.

  • And I picked it up and running quickly.

  • Yeah, I think so, too.

  • Suddenly got really windy.

  • Let's shake.

  • Yelled it again was composition and framing.

  • What happened in the third location to the third spot.

  • Built on that even more that night tunnel story gates which you think that that's like an easy shot, right, cause it's already so photogenic.

  • But notice that again.

  • The obvious shot, the first shot we took.

  • OK, but what was?

  • What was the problem?

  • There was a lot more open gaps linking the gate.

  • It was like clutter.

  • It was extra stuff one way that move closer.

  • It doesn't work right now, so come over here.

  • You can eliminate the gap.

  • That's critical.

  • All right, with that easy kind of trickier.

  • It was pretty good.

  • I'm glad to hear that.

  • That means you're learning that for all the years I've lived in Tokyo and known about this location, I've never been here really, really what you have in your like I've been to the location, but I've never actually come.

  • Did you hear?

  • Right?

  • And it's quiet.

  • Thing is just a perfect spot.

  • If you want to come out, we'll do Congress.

  • All right, let me move this camera.

  • We're gonna get on our way because the best part of all of this is just like the start of our adventure today.

  • We're going on like another little photo adventure right now.

  • Action.

  • Yeah, Yeah, After coffee.

  • I really wanted to do this today because I knew would make Alexander's visit to Japan and capturing those memories that much better.

  • So thank you so much.

  • My pleasure.

  • And I hope you 16 skills with you on the risk of your trip and not just the trip, you know, wherever, Luke, it's out here to do this today because Lucas actually runs a company that does photo adventure.

  • Adventure.

  • Seriously, guys, if you were coming to Tokyo and you want to learn how to get better pictures in, just see sites that maybe you otherwise wouldn't get to see, we may even have something coming in the work.

  • Thank you so much for joining us on.

  • Part one of this adventure.

  • Part two is just around the corner.

  • If you enjoy this one, definitely give that, like, button some love.
