  • Oh, my goodness.

  • Well, you're the sexiest man alive.

  • People are being so nice to me.

  • But on the internet, they're very mean when

  • you win sexiest man alive.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • What?

  • How-- what is there to be mean about?

  • I think people take it literally.

  • They think, well, I can think of someone actually sexier

  • than him.

  • First of all, sexy is in the eye of the beholder.

  • But there's nothing to behold with you, other than sexiness.

  • Oh!

  • And the epitome--

  • Oh!

  • Oh, Tracee.

  • The epitome of what a man can be.

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • A wonderful husband.

  • Oh, stop it, Tracee.

  • A man that's talented.

  • He shows up for his community.

  • Oh, my goodness.

  • He's a feminist.

  • Oh, my gosh.

  • What else is there to say!?

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • Tracee--

  • [INTERPOSING VOICES]

  • --Stop it, please!

  • If men could just take notes!

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • All right--

  • Please stop.

  • --Moving on.

  • Please stop.

  • Let's talk about me--

  • [INTERPOSING VOICES]

  • --Shall we?

  • Let's talk about Tracee Ellis Ross.

  • [LAUGHING]

  • I've known you and your mom for a long time.

  • Yeah.

  • But I gotta take this off.

  • OK.

  • Let's take it off.

  • I can't.

  • Your suit is too cute.

  • [LAUGHING]

  • Chrissy would-- this is not--

  • OK, there we go.

  • There you go.

  • OK.

  • So you just had a birthday, right?

  • I just had a birthday.

  • Turned 47.

  • Oh, my goodness.

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • Yeah.

  • Now--

  • I don't know what this whole thing is about people

  • being afraid to get older.

  • It's been so fantastic.

  • I mean, I think when you're 47 and you

  • look like you, you go around telling people, oh, I'm 47.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • And they're like, what?

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • I work hard at it.

  • Yeah, it was.

  • What did you do for your birthday?

  • I did not do anything.

  • I have had such an amazing year.

  • I wanted to just take the time that I had-- which was none,

  • because I was shooting.

  • So I went to bed.

  • You went to bed?

  • I worked a 13-hour day, had a glass of tequila

  • then went to bed.

  • Well -- as one should.

  • And got back--

  • When is your birthday?

  • October 29th.

  • And then got back up--

  • Oh so you're like a Halloween baby?

  • Oh, yeah.

  • And then went-- went to work.

  • I didn't go to a party that night.

  • I felt like I just--

  • when you have a party yourself, you spend the first half

  • saying hi to people.

  • Yes.

  • The second half saying bye.

  • It's work.

  • It's work.

  • Yes.

  • So Gabrielle Union and I are birthday twins.

  • Oh, yes.

  • Same year, same birthday, everything.

  • Oh, wow.

  • And she always--

  • What magic happened on that day?

  • Right.

  • Yes.

  • And she always throws a birthday party,

  • and threw a great one this year on the Sunday

  • before our birthday.

  • And-- yeah, we're friends.

  • Did you get dressed up for it?

  • [INTERPOSING VOICES]

  • Yeah.

  • We did get dressed up.

  • She did Cali Love--

  • California Love-- and I went as DJ Quick.

  • Ah, yeah.

  • There she is.

  • Excuse me, he is.

  • There we go.

  • So-- and the best part of Gabrielle's party

  • was it was called from 2:00 to 7:00, which is perfect timing.

  • What a grown-up time to have a party.

  • Isn't that great?

  • Yes.

  • I was like if it had been called for 7:00,

  • I would have been like, I can't go.

  • Too late for me.

  • But I got there--

  • [AUDIENCE AW-ING]

  • 2:00 to 7:00?

  • It's like you start to resort back to kid time, yeah.

  • That's like when we throw Luna's--

  • Exactly.

  • --Daycare parties or preschool parties.

  • Exactly.

  • Yes, perfect.

  • 47, you get right back--

  • [INTERPOSING VOICES]

  • You revert back to preschool time.

  • Exactly.

  • Now--

  • But do you see my mustache?

  • Yeah.

  • Did people recognize you?

  • As a matter of fact, no, they did not.

  • OK.

  • Well, good costume then.

  • Yeah.

  • Omar Epps was talking to me for quite some time.

  • And I was--

  • And had no idea?

  • --Like, it's Tracee.

  • And he goes, oh, my God.

  • That mustache is disgusting.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • We had a Halloween party, and we were

  • thinking we should have everyone announce themselves

  • when they walked in.

  • Because we had no idea who anybody was.

  • And can I tell you a secret about that?

  • I was supposed to come to your Halloween party.

  • But I would've been by myself and I was like,

  • what a nightmare.

  • Gabrielle came.

  • But to go by yourself to a Halloween party.

  • You'll have no idea who anybody is.

  • It was scary, too.

  • Oh, I can't.

  • I don't.

  • Now, your mother is Diana Ross.

  • You guys are familiar with her.

  • [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]

  • And a lot of times you hear these horror stories

  • about kids of super duper celebrities.

  • then you turned out like you did.

  • And your mother must be so proud.

  • She's very proud.

  • And--

  • I hope.

  • I'm thinking, I have a daughter.

  • And I would like her to grow up and be like you.

  • So do you have any tips for raising kids in this world?

  • First of all, you and Chrissy don't need any tips.

  • I watch you guys on Instagram.

  • Oh.

  • You're doing fine.

  • [LAUGHTER]

  • And your kids are precious.

  • My God, they're amazing.

  • Well, our daughter is mixed-ish as you would say,

  • and you have a particular brand of hair products that's perfect

  • for mixed-ish girls--

  • Yes.

  • With curls.

  • For anyone with curly, coily, or tight textured hair.

  • Absolutely.

  • I got products for you.

  • So we've got Pattern here.

  • Oh, my gosh.

  • Pattern Beauty.

  • Yeah, we do.

  • Tracee's new brand.

  • Tell us about it.

  • Well, I will tell you.

  • First of all, be patient and persistent with your dreams.

  • 10 years it took me to do this.

  • Oh, wow.

  • Yeah.

  • 2008 I wrote my first hair care brand pitch,

  • when "Girlfriends" finished.

  • Took me 10 years to make this happen.

  • I own this company, which is so exciting.

  • Amazing.

  • As I said, it's for curly, coily, and tight textured hair.

  • It is an unmet demographic of people

  • that have been defying gravity and being gorgeous.

  • Yes.

  • With the way our hair comes out of our head for eternities,

  • across the globe.

  • And there have not been products that

  • support us with the hydration we need,

  • and that beautiful packaging.

  • So it's called Pattern, and I'm so proud of it.

  • And we already have it at the Legend house.

  • Luna is already using it.

  • I love it.

  • Thank you so much.

  • And the lot of you are going to have it today.

  • There's a gift.

  • Pattern is available exclusively at Ulta Beauty Stores

  • and online, and you can try the Pattern products with your $250

  • Ulta Beauty gift card.
