We're back with Chris Hemsworth.
That was a clip from Extraction.
Before you tell everybody what the movie was about,
I have to tell you that it was sent
to me early so I could watch it, and Portia and I were watching,
and we--
that's so weird that they don't have subtitles
because we're just supposed to figure out what they're saying.
I guess we're supposed to just figure out
because we could kind of tell what was happening.
We watched the entire movie with no subtitles.
They sent it to us without subtitles,
and so I still enjoyed it without knowing what half
of the movie was happening.
Oh, really?
You didn't-- Oh, that's--
OK.
Well, that's a plus.
Apologies for-- I think it made subtitles for me.
I'm like, I'm not that difficult to understand it it?
No, I can understand you once in a while,
but tell everybody what it is about.
- Yeah.
It's two warring drug lords in India who basically--
one of them kidnaps the other one's son as ransom,
and I'm brought in as extraction to pull the kid out
of the situation.
And when I arrived to do that, the whole city
basically ascends on myself and this young kid.
And so it's a race against the clock,
and somewhat in real time, we see
this chase and escape happen, and there's still this rescue.
But as you say this stunt work--
Sam Hargrove directed the film who is one of the executive,
you know, stunt directors in the Marvel universe to the last two
Avengers movies, and the plan was
to take this to a level we haven't seen before.
And one particular space in the film-- it's
a 12 minute sequence which is a chase sequence.
It starts on foot, ends up in a car,
up down stairs, across buildings, and so on,
and it's basically a series of shots
that are strung together seamlessly
to appear like one continuous shot.
You couldn't hide behind the edit so there was no, you know,
if I'd made a mistake, cut to another angle, or so on.
So we had to basically choreograph it like a dance,
and have every move exact, and it was kind of one of the most
exhausting, challenging things I've ever done,
but as you say, the end result was
something pretty unique and special,
so we're pretty proud of that.
Yeah.
You should be proud of it.
And you also have a really--
this sounds hilarious-- you're doing a movie with Tiffany
Haddish who's here next week, and you're
playing a male stripper which is a role that you
were born to play.
It's a dream of mine, yeah.
It's about two police officers who go undercover,
and she is my pimp and me as the stripper,
and they sent her the script.
Love her work, she's hilarious.
What I didn't know was how versed
she was in the world of stripping, particular male
stripping, and she's been to many a male strip club, which
she immediately kind of ripped the script apart,
said, yeah, this would never happen.
It goes like this, and you do this.
And let me tell you about strip clubs, all right.
So we unexpectedly have the big expert in the partnership.
Thank God you have her.
Yeah, she's-- I would think that she did know a lot about that.
And once she wants to learn about something,
she dives deep, so I--
She's been doing that prep work.
- I hope that happens.
- Even prior to getting the role,
she'd been doing her prep for this role.
- Well, she knew it was bound to happen, and like you said,
it was the role that you were waiting to do.
So I'm glad you finally got your dream come true.
All right.
It was good talking to you.
My love to you and the family.
Hope everybody's good.
Extraction will be available on Netflix starting tomorrow,
and it will have subtitles so you'll understand
even more than I did.
Thank you so much.
We'll be right back.
