The culture that they kind of created in the wake of all that.

What do you think was sort of the key?

The smartest thing they did along this path to rebuilding That really got them toe winning free agents.

So they didn't They could not tank because they had no incentive.

Because not only did they not control their picks every other year, but in those off years their picks would swap.

So they really were like, Look, we're going to get guys who play hard and we're gonna try to win every single day.

We know we're not gonna win a lot.

We're gonna try toe, try to play that way.

We're gonna beat the bushes and look, They drafted some guys and they signed some guys that did not work out.

There were guys that were efs and they were gone.

But over the course of time they found Spencer Dinwiddie.

They found Caris Levert.

They put Joe Harris off the scrapheap because they were able to do experiment next, you know, to come out the other side, and they've got a team with a terrific culture.

And when you're trying to sell, there's a whole bunch of different teams in big markets.

Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, Nets.

Culture turns to matter and ended up mattering in this week.

I mean, I mean, you're someone points we shouldn't even have a draft.

This is a team that in some ways de facto operated without a draft for a while and did the thing that you've said, Hey, teams could be forced Now, I don't know if this only works if you also happen to be in New York City, right?

Because, as Kyrie said, Hey, I just wanted to go home.

I wanted to be in New York.

The city is appealing.

It was appealing to K D.

I don't It would be naive to say that Brooklyn being in New York had nothing to do with it.

But yesterday Rachel was a triumph for everything that we talked about on this show culture doing things the right way, not taking short cuts, not bartering on past achievements or my zip code or any of those things.

Do you think that this last year up close, do you think that that's true?

No, I don't.

I think Katie coming off an Achilles that's gonna be remains to be seen, what he's gonna look like in Kyrie with the injuries he's already dealt with.

I don't know if either one is gonna have close to the athleticism that we saw in that period in Oklahoma City, but this whole thing to me is less about the Nets and more about the Knicks.

Matt Barnes sat right here yesterday and said Katie and Kyrie and Andre were all supposed to go to the Knicks.

It was, it's been talked about.

It was done.

They felt like that was the place to be.
