Have you met a weird or difficult foreigner?

There are foreign guys on Takeshita. They will say "Girl you look cute come buy at our store..."

Yeah those guys.

They are quite direct.

They are persistent! - I will say "no thanks" and try to walk on.

I avoid them that way, but the first time I was pretty scared.

They are quite tall. - Yeah they are so big!

I was worried what they would do to me.

I got used to them. My friends told me it's ok to just ignore them,

that made it easier.

Did you feel like you had to interact with them?

They will definitely talk with you when you look into their eyes, so I try to walk looking down.

They scared me.

"We have good things in our store. You are cute, let me show you something" they say

I was like "Whaa"

That directness troubles Japanese?

Yes it does and ... they scare me.

Yesterday I was on the train. Must be because he was hot but one foreigner...

showed his stomach!

A guy? A girl?

There was a couple on the train.

The girl sat on the side... and the boy... he showed off his stomach like this.

He lifted his shirt? - Like that yeah.

Wow did he at least have a 6 pack to show off?

He was a little on the chubby side.

Muffin top? - Muffin top!

He showed of his rolls.

You can't do that in Japan. - Yeah you can't.

It was quite a sight. - Have you seen it in Japan?

Ever seen a Japanese do it? - Never!

Showing off to much skin in public. - YEah.

After doing sports boys will fan themselves with their shirt but...

But men don't show their stomachs in the train or bus. I was so shocked!!!

Everyone looked at him? - Yeah.

Was he sitting on a seat or the floor? - The floor.

You don't sit on the floor in Japan either right?

No we don't.

Is there a reason why Japanese don't sit on the floor?

You're in the way of others.

That is not a place to sit on.

The train is a place where we have to look out for others too

We have a culture of standing in line and of giving our seats to others.

And also cleanliness wise? - Yeah

The floor is dirty. - Yeah for sitting on.

Inside the train....

there was a foreigner who played his music loudly.

That wasn't on.

How did he play the music?

He raised the volume on his phone. - What?

He wedged in when he sat down.

He was talking with other foreigners, and kept playing the music.

I was like "No way."

So left and right two foreigners sat playing their music? - Yeah.

And all people on the train were annoyed, but did anyone dare to say something?

Nobody dared to. - It's hard to do that...

Japanese can't speak up like that.

It's forbidden! There are so many signs saying "Don't play your music too loudly."

Yeah it is.

The recent foreigners in Japan seem to know and try to align to our culture.

Most of them don't make us feel bad.

But there are many "funky" people in Japan recently.

They come to talk to us. Foreigners seem to talk easily to other people.

They are friendly! - Like "Hey girl how ya doing?"

Yeah like that. - Isn't that... chatting you up?

I don't think that's what it was.

Some Chinese people...

What happened to you then? - They cut in line.

We were shopping...

We stood in line first...

And then ...

When the staff was finally serving us...

They came and pushed right in there.

We were like "Wow how daring?"

What did the staff do then?

The staff was a really good person.

She said "Please wait for your turn"

She took control of the situation.

She must be used to dealing with foreign customers. - She seemed to be.

She said "Wait till later. Next. So please wait."

This didn't leave too much of a bad aftertaste but I didn't believe they did that.

In Japan standing in line is an important custom. - It is.

When coming to Tokyo I see a lot of foreigners dressed in kawaii clothes!

Sometimes they will come to talk to me.

So foreigners wearing different fashion from everyone else...

Will some up to you for pictures? - That has happened to me quite a lot.

What fashion is most popular?

When I wear tall heels or thick soles, strong colors, or one full color like today...

That's when they generally call out to me.

At my university an old foreign man is teaching.

Once I wore clothes with English writing on it...

And he said "Do you know what it says on your tshirt?"

And I couldn't read it and he...

Shook his face like that.

I was really surprised he reacted like that when I just wore a tshirt

He is quite old so he was like that.

He also called me out during class like that...

He singled me out like that during his lesson.

Now I really wanna know what it said on your tshirt!

On Japanese clothes we will often find some English lines.

It was one of those.

I forgot what it said on my tshirt now.

But it wasn't anything weird on it either.

I went home and checked that day.

He didn't tell you that day? - He didn't.

He just continued class.

What? That must have made you feel insecure for a whole day.

There are quite a lot of things, weird and scary foreigners for example a

aggressive sales people in Harajuku, foreigners who break the rules and just have

bad manners in generally they are really not liked. Cutting in line things like that

Come on everyone is doing it, why are you are not doing it, kind of thing.

Foreigners who take pictures of people without permission.

Are really really not cool!

People wouldn't do that in their own country.

But lots of people think its ok if they do it in Japan and I'm like,

What's wrong with you? There are the rudest people. Like people...

the age of our parents, coming up taking sneaky pictures without permission...

If we tell them off they are like "meh meh meh"

So yeah, not really on. Don't do this in Japan. It's so RUDE!

You wouldn't do it in your country so don't do it in another country!

Seriously guys, also rude T-shirts....

That girls told us that she wore a tshirt and the guy told her something negative about it...

Same thing for you guys if you come to Japan...

Don't wear weird t-shirts so quite a lot of foreigners have...

left a very bad impression by putting some kind of sexual content, sexual manga

on their t-shirts, thinking it's cool to wear in Japan... it really is not... so you shouldn't

shouldn't be doing that.

Maybe don't wear those here. So on that note, if you wanna know what
