"Vintage Looks For School," so I thought I'd do a

new one, which is something else that you guys asked me quite a lot--vintage looks for straight hair.

Because I obviously, have very straight hair.

Although today it has a little bit of a kink, because it has an old set in it.

but, It's fine, it's fine! It's straight. It's also medium length. So, all of these looks I think

Medium to long hair will suit, and there are some that you can do with shorter hair, like here-ish.

Including milkmaid braids, which I think are really pretty. Let me know what you think--I hope you really enjoy

This little tutorial, and do tell

below, which would also work for straight hair. As

As you can see, my hair is cut in a very long version of a midi cut,

Which is essentially shorter at the front and longer at the back to create a horseshoe shape.

Number one: The Barrel Roll. You will need comb, pomade, hairspray, hairpins, and head scarf.

Take the front fringe section of your hair and backcomb, smoothing down the outer edges as you go.

Add little handy pomade and

if you, have leftover, just rub it through the rest of your hair. Spritz some trusty hairspray around as

well, to really smooth down those flyaways.

Roll your hair over your fingers, and away from your parting.

Pin down from the front, and the back. Add a delightful chiffon

Head scarf and tie in a bow in the center of your head, just behind the roll.

You can choose to either hide the ends of the ribbon or not, but for a true vintage look, go for a larger bow and hidden ends

Number Two: The Hair Swoop (break to remove hearing aids)

You will need hairpins, hairspray, and a barrette

Take the front side section of your hair and pin towards the back of your head, keeping a nice swoop

Pin your fringe away from your face. Repeat the pinned back swoop, but the other side of your hair.

Back comb your fringe to give it just a little height, and swoop around to one side by again curling it around your fingers.

Clip over not only the ends of the hair pinned from the front but also the hair rooted where you

Want the clip to sit. If you have very straight smooth hair

like mine, then add another hair pin underneath the barrette to keep it in place.

Number three easy, flip updo you will need a hair band and a barrette

create a, high ponytail using a thin hair band

Use your fingers just split the hair, above the band in half and flip the ponytail upwards pulling it halfway

Through the hole you've created leaving hair to curl over the top

If you have problems with your hair staying in place then pin underneath

Add a large barrette slide in the vintage hairpiece

Number four: milkmaid braids. You will need hair bands and pins, many pins

Start with a centre parting or at least try to. Part your hair at the back to give two equal handfuls

Work quickly so your hair, doesn't just immediately flip over. Divide the hair into three parts, radiating from just behind

your ear. Plait the hair as far down as you can go. Really try to capture every single bit of hair all the way down

Take a moment to enjoy the Wednesday Addams-ness of it all or Pippi Longstockings whatever

your flavour

Flip the first plait up onto the top of your head and pin in place

Take the second plait and do the same, crossing them over at the very top of your head

Gently pull off the hair bands and pin the tail end of your plaits underneath the opposing plait

*caribbean style uptempo music plays*

Number-5: 1950s ponytail. You will need crocodile clips, comb, two hair bands

Pin the front section of your hair back on itself, or try to. Do the same of the to front side sections

Back comb the hair on top of your head behind the front section

Spritz with hairspray if you need to add some texture to improve your back combing

Take a hairband and securely tie the back combed part of your hair at a

High point of your head add in the rest of your hair and use a hair band to secure over the other band

Unclip the side sections and brush them over your back combed hair covering any obvious edge if there is one.

Wrap the ends of these sections over the hair bands and pin underneath

Now for the front section, spritz with hairspray to get on a lovely, smooth look. Roll your hair underneath towards your face

You can, also add a headscarf either just behind the front roll or around the ponytail at the back
