Sick Look now at those to Holland America cruise ships in the Sand Dam and the Rotterdam, both now in port in Fort Lauderdale, after traveling from South America with dozens onboard exhibiting potential symptoms of covert 19 and four already dying on board.

Nightmares at sea have haunted the world for months, From Japan to California and now to South Florida, the Holland America's on Dom has been at sea for nearly a month.

305 Americans were among the more than 1800 people who started their journey on March 7th in Buenos Itis that was supposed to end in San Antonio, Chile.

But this epic South American vacation cruise did not turn out quite like they hoped This morning.

They are still testing passengers and crew on the ship, and they knocked at our door with masks on, and they took our temperature.

Just days into their trip, the World Health Organization, officially labeled the cove it 19 crisis a worldwide pandemic, and passengers and crew started falling ill.

The ship was turned away from port after port, even the Panama Canal, at one point blocking it.

This is our new home.

Passengers onboard, feeling trapped.

We have been quarantined since the 22nd without being able to go outside.

Are you abandoned?

In all, 250 people on board reported flu like symptoms, and four older guests have died, including American Jeffrey Hag.

Under these are human beings.

His niece, Leanne, speaking with ABC News, her widowed aunt Lucille still onboard.

She's surprised later than you know.

You can't properly grieve until you can hug your daughter and your son and, you know, start the process.

Zonda Mom had no covert 19 tests on board, so Holland America sent in another ship, the Rotterdam, to deliver supplies and those critical tests.

The cruise line started moving some passengers without symptoms to the Rotterdam, the company's president, sending a message to passengers.

The intention is for each of these ships to work in tandem, to try to protect the health of those that are healthy, and so that we can create room and space so that we can care for the ones that are sick leaving passengers on the Zonda.

MME Frustrated.

We've just been told we will not be allowed off the ship because we were honest and said that we had been coughing the most critical question.

When with these ships finally, Doc Amy, we jonesparents air onboard the gendarme.

Her father Bill has severe pneumonia.

Her mother, Gloria, has a fever.

There's no time these people need to get off the ship there.

People even more ill than my father.

They don't have the time to wait to poor.

As the ship's moved closer and closer to Florida, Governor Rhonda Santa said he didn't want the ships docking in the state.

You know the way to deal with this is to send medical attention to the ship just to drop people off the place where you know we're having the highest number of cases right now, you know, just just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

But President Trump sent a different message at his daily news conference.

They're people that are sick in the ship, and we don't want to be like they're gonna be ghost ships.

You know, I'm gonna do what's right.

Not only for us, but for humanity.

Cruise ships around the world have faced the covert 19 crisis head on in an unimaginable way.

First, the Diamond Princess held off the coast of Japan for nearly a month.

More than 700 Corona virus cases on board, then the Grand Princess off the coast of California with 21 Corona virus cases.

And today, Fort Lauderdale finally allowing the to Holland America ships to dock after their long South American journey.

So far in Florida, on the sand, um, nine passengers have tested positive after nearly a week of testing.

Maur positive cases are likely the cruise lines saying sick passengers will have to stay isolated on board until they recover.

But for now, healthy passengers, or at least those not showing any symptoms will be on their way home G open, he tells ABC News New York, and our thanks to Geo for that report, A B C's Victor Kendo joins us now live from Fort Lauderdale, where those cruise ships have docked it.

What finally led to the agreement to let these ships finally Doc and What are the conditions for those passengers getting off to try to keep them from spreading any disease?

Well, Lindsey, it wasn't easy, and this back and forth nearly lasted all week.

But eventually everyone agreed on a plan that would help the passengers on these ships and Floridians.

So here's what's happening next.

Those who need immediate medical attention are being rushed to the hospital and those who are just showing moderate symptoms.

They will have to stay on these shifts until they have recovered under CDC guidelines.

As for those who are fit to travel, they will be driven straight home.

If you have to fly, they'll be taken to the airport, where chartered flights are being arranged so the sick passengers will remain onboard.

How will they get treatment?

And do we know how long they're expected to remain there?

We're talking about more than 250 passengers who reported feeling those flu like symptoms.

They will have to stay on these ships until they have recovered again under those CDC guidelines.

And as for Care Hall in America, says medical staff on the ships will be taken care of them.
