Now, this is a product that I really wanted to like.

I have been in several situations recently where this would have been very useful.

For instance, when you're at the pool, you can put your phone and wallet inside and then use this cable to lock it to a chair.

However, as I looked more carefully at the mechanism, I realized there was a big problem.

Usually on mechanisms like this, you can use a thin shim of metal like this and feel for the gate, and you can absolutely do that on this lock.

However, on this mechanism, the tolerances are so sloppy that you can literally look through the gap and see that gate.

I'm gonna zoom in and hopefully you'll be able to see that can see right here in this little gap.

Let me move this so you can see what it's like when there's no gate, and then back to where the gate iss.

So I'm gonna show you just how easy it is.

First, we need to change the combination.

So it's not something I know and this is facing away from me, of course.

So I can't see the combination and let's scramble it again.

So right now I have a locked box and I do not know the combination, but hopefully in just a matter of seconds, I should be able to decode this, not even looking at the numbers, just looking at that gap on the side.

So if someone can open this without any tools in a matter of seconds, it's probably not something that you want to rely upon.
