  • This is the lock picking lawyer.

  • And what I have for you today is a huge tractor trailer king pin lock made by cargo protectors.

  • Ink.

  • It's the model A M 101 I got this from Bosnian Bill.

  • So, Bill, thank you very much for letting me play with this really interesting product.

  • Now, this massive lock weighs in north of £11 it is designed to fit over the pin that connects the tractor with the trailer, also known as the Kingpin.

  • The idea here is to stop tow away theft of a trailer by preventing a truck from coupling with that trailer in the first place.

  • Inside of this massive lock body is an American loch model 5200 padlock.

  • Once that padlock is open, let me do that.

  • Right now it allows this bolt to slide aside and the whole lock to be removed.

  • Now, normally, this sliding bolt is retained by a large role pen.

  • However, prior to this video, I removed that role pin so we can take this apart a little bit later.

  • Now these American locks are full of serrated and spoon pins.

  • So absent a fair amount of luck, It probably can't be raked open.

  • However, it's also not going to delay an experience picker for very long at all.

  • So let's see what we can do to get this open.

  • And then, of course, I will take it apart to show you what's inside.

  • Now, before we pick, imagine that this is in place with the bottom of the trailer, right at the top lock here.

  • So, while I normally like using top of the key way tension, I'm going to be using my bent version of the 50 thousands pry bar so it wouldn't interfere with the bottom of the trailer.

  • I'm also using a standard hook in 18 thousands.

  • Okay, Nothing on 123 for his binding.

  • Gotta click there for feel set five.

  • Also binding.

  • Gotta click out of five.

  • And that feels set.

  • And no sixth pen.

  • Nothing.

  • On one two.

  • The re is binding tightly still binding after a click.

  • One more click and we dropped into a nice deep full set.

  • Nothing on 45 Okay, counter rotation on one.

  • Got one set counter rotation on to Got to set.

  • It Looks like we got this open.

  • Okay, let's take this apart, and I will show you what's inside of this.

  • Looks like we have 1/100 anniversary version of this American lock.

  • These are mildly collectible.

  • Right now.

  • Let's get the pinning tray over here and to take these apart.

  • We normally have a Phillips screw right down the shackle hole.

  • So let's remove that first removed that core and make sure we do have an anti bypass wafer and there is one in there.

  • Okay, now we'll need to get this clip off the back, and we should just need the key and a follower to finish taking this apart.

  • Okay, let's start taking these key pins.

  • That air sticking up out of there.

  • Okay, here's number one two, the re on DDE.

  • See, that was number five and for is being a little bit stubborn here.

  • There we go.

  • Okay, let's arrange these, and then I will get the driver pins out driver pins.

  • Felt like we had some serrated spools up in one and two, and the rest felt serrated.

  • That's what I'm saying.

  • Serrated spools.

  • And one and two serrated in three.

  • Huh?

  • Serrated in four and serrated spool in number five.

  • So that spooling never really came into effect because that keep in is so long.

  • In fact, the bidding on this lock isn't particularly impressive at all.

  • Okay, let me give you a little closer.

  • Look at all of this can see on those key pens.

  • We have a standard in pin one.

  • Normally, that would be serrated if it was a little bit longer.

  • But because that keeping is so short, we have a standard pen.

  • That's because those serrations would never really come into play on a super short pin like that.

  • And we have serrated in 234 and five than for our driver pens.

  • We have serrated spools and slots 12 and five and serrated pins in slots three and four.

  • So that's all I have for you today on this Cargo Protectors Inc model AM 101 King pin lock Bill.

  • Thank you very much for sending this lock my way.

  • Everyone else, if you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below.
