As I discussed in video number 8 33 Master Lock recently replaced the outdated locking mechanism in their number three padlock with a dual ball bearing locking mechanism. This is the gold standard for holding a shackle closed. Not only does it eliminate a host of bypass methods, but it also is far superior when it comes to resisting brute force. So Master Lock is quite correct when they show on the packaging that it is now even stronger. And I thought this would be a great opportunity to test it against something else that is now even stronger. My new and improved ram set. Now, for those of you who haven't seen one of my ram set videos, this is a tool that harnesses the power of a 22 blank shell like this one to drive an internal piston forward. That piston, in turn, drives a nail into steel or concrete, and this is a silenced version, so it's much more quiet than you would expect. What I do is allow that piston to move forward unimpeded by a nail and strike a lock, usually breaking it. But I figured we needed more power. So I bought this one which steps it up just a little bit. My old ram set took these 22 caliber blank cartridges. Where is the new one? Takes thes 27 caliber cartridges that come in strips and they're loaded just a little bit hotter. So let's take all this down to the garage and see how my new and improved RAM set handles the new and improved master lock. Okay, folks, I'm down in the garage and I have the new and improved master lock secured on a chain and the new and improved ram set all loaded up. So let's see how the master lock fares. Okay, folks, as you saw improved though the master lock, maybe the 27 caliber ram set meet short work of it. We can see exactly where the ram set piston struck the lock body a little bit off center, but still good enough to do the job but to give credit where it's due. The improved locking mechanism seems to have done its job. It was these shackle that failed initially and then it appears that the lock body deformed enough to release one end of the shackle. In any case, that's all I have for you today. I'll try to bring some more of the stronger Ram said to you in the near future. But for now, if you do have any questions or comments, please put them below. If you like this video and would like to see more like it, please subscribe. And, as always, have a nice day. Thank you.
