Oh, I ate so much.

I feel so full anyway, as you know this the part where we talk about small mistakes we made in the video or the parts that didn't quite make it into the video.

For one, it's Port of Crystal Ball, not Port of Cologne, but it's by the town of Cologne.

Also in the political animation, the sun was rising in the West and setting in the East.

But you get the point.

One thing.

We didn't talk too much about where the tensions between the Americans and the Panamanians during the 1819 hundreds.

I mean, obviously, if a part of your country is kind of under the sovereign zone of another country, it's gonna it's kind of inevitable.

It all kind of started when that railroad was built.

In fact, there was even an event called the Watermelon War, in which an entire riot was started over a slice of watermelon.

Look it up, and we did mention that they're pretty close with Costa Rica.

However, they did have a war with Costa Rica and twenties called the total war.

It was basically over the border.

Also coy about island usedto have a prison on it.

We did mention it, but we didn't really talk too much about it.

Some people estimate that during the time when the French attempted to make the canal, about 20,000 people alone died.

And when the U.

Was involved in the early 20th century, somewhere around 11,000 most of these people died from disease and the heat and the conditions.

It was pretty brutal.

A lot of guys also kind of wished that we put the song Panama by Van Halen in there.

I did not mention the fact that Panama City is the only capital city in the world with a rain forest within their city limits.

We didn't talk too much about the festivals they have.

They have so many of them.

Finally, Panama is one of the countries that does not have an army.

All right, so that's just about it.

And now we go to the flag.

So without further add, do you?

Hey, was so hard to come up with bad puns.

For Panama, the best I could come up with was pandemonium and panic maniacs.

Anyway, we're supposed to teach geography, not wordplay.

The flag the flag of Panama, known as the Stars and Quarters, is a banner divided into four rectangles, with diagonally opposing blue and red stars on white fields and solid blue and red fields in the others.

These quadrants symbolized the rival political parties blue for conservatives and read for liberals, whereas the white is set to stand for the peace of the nation and the peace between both parties.

On another note, Blue is also said to stand for purity and honesty, whereas the red stands for the authority and law of the country.

The stars also stand for the birth of the New Republic, not giving mine.

Prior to this, there was actually another proposed flag that never kicked off.

The boon of Aria flag was inspired off of the American flag, you know, had 13 stripes.

They're blue and yellow, representing the ties to Colombia and Spain, and in the upper hoist side.

They had a blue field with two interconnected sons and represented the role that Panama played in connecting North and South America.

That was rejected, and they made the other one.

And, of course, also keep in mind that when they're under Grand Columbia, they were under a department known as East Mall.

It actually contained a coast further up north that extended all the way to Nicaragua.

And prior to that there, obviously under the Spanish Empire, right?

So that's that.

Now the coat of arms sort of are.

It is pretty cool.

It contains a lot of imagery in the centre Liza Shield, divided into five sections on the top, left Liza Saber and Rifle to symbolize the remembrance of battles and to never again seek civil war juxtaposed to the left on the next section containing a shovel and grub symbolizing the work of the nation on the bottom left of the shield lies the cornucopia symbolizing wealth next to the final quadrant, a winged wheel symbolizing progress.

In the center of the shield lies a panorama of the isthmus, situated on both coasts of the Pacific and the Caribbean Atlantic, with the sun and moon symbolizing the day and hour of independence.

On the sides of the shield are four draped Panamanian flags all below a harpy eagle, the national animal holding a banner reading in Latin Pro Mundi.

Beneficial, which means for the benefit of the world.

On top of the eagle lies the 10 stars symbolizing the 10 provinces of the nation.

Now keep in mind the coat of arms was made in 1904 hour.

For the longest time, the eagle on the coat of arms was just labeled as an eagle without a specified species.

Finally, they made the harpy eagle, the official animal, in 2002 and in 2006 they officially labeled the eagle on the seal a harpy eagle.

So yeah, and that is just about it.

So you know what that means?
