  • Hey, kids, today we're making pineapple butter sponge bars.

  • Hey, kids, we're first going to add two cups of sugar on four eggs, and we are going to beat this until it is nice and thick.

  • I have one and 1/2 cups of cake flour here.

  • If you don't have cake flour, you can take one cup of, um, all purpose flour and you minus two tablespoons of it.

  • So you fill it up and you minus two tablespoons, and you fill the two tablespoons with corn starch so two tablespoons of corn starch to one cup minus two tablespoons of all purpose flour.

  • Okay, and then we're also gonna add in here a teaspoon of baking powder, half a teaspoon of baking soda on an eighth of a teaspoon of salt.

  • We're now going to add the tri to this wet stuff.

  • What you want to make sure that you're not over beating your mix, Okay, just maybe until it's combined and you're good.

  • I previously melted ah, half a cup or one stick of butter, and I've allowed it to cool if you put in the microwave.

  • 30 seconds should be pretty good.

  • I went about 25 I have one tiny little piece there left, but we're gonna go ahead and add that we're also going to add and a 20 ounce can of crushed pineapple that has been well drained.

  • Think I've got as much of the liquid out of there as humanly possible.

  • I left it draining for about 10 minutes or so, but I still see where if I press it, I can get more liquid out of it.

  • So just make sure you get as much liquid out of your pineapple as possible.

  • And we're going to add this in along with one cup of chopped nuts, complete in any kind of nut that you wish.

  • You know, I'm from Hawaii, so I'm going to add in the ultimate.

  • All right, So I'm just gonna stir this up once again.

  • I don't want to over mix.

  • I'm gonna spread this into a shallow pan.

  • I have my oven.

  • Preheat ings at 350 degrees on it already boob.

  • So let's get to spreading it in that pan.

  • I sprayed my pan.

  • Not sure it's actually necessary.

  • I'm just using, like the We still call them cookies.

  • Pounds, actually, back in the day.

  • I'm hoping that this isn't gonna rise above it already.

  • This is going into our 350 degree oven for 25 minutes, so I will see you.

  • And it worked fantastically in that little pan.
