  • Hey, everyone, How's it going?

  • As in the language nerd here as per usual.

  • Welcome to another episode of Super Easy English.

  • Today we are in Germany and more specifically, in Cologne, in German.

  • I think they say something like, because I think that's how you pronounce it.

  • But I'm not sure we're going Thio, walk around the streets here, discuss some of the differences between between what things were like in Canada compared to what I'm seeing here in Germany.

  • And, of course, we're going to learn some different, some different words as we go.

  • Without aside, uh, let's start.

  • So, obviously has many similarities to Canada.

  • Obviously, there are lots of people.

  • Obviously, there are cars.

  • Well, there's no cars behind me now, but there are many, many cars.

  • You'll probably see them.

  • You'll probably see them passed by me quite shortly.

  • We have different.

  • We have different stores.

  • We have different restaurants.

  • It's very, very similar in many ways to to Canada.

  • But what you will notice if we look just back here, this red lane right here behind me is actually a bike lane.

  • So in this bike lane it is only four bites very shortly you're actually going to see a bike grow by here.

  • So there we go.

  • There goes a bike that's very different in Canada.

  • We don't have a bike lane that is on the sidewalk like this.

  • That's not something that we actually have, and it's it's, uh, it's definitely it's definitely different, and you don't want to necessarily walk too much in the bike lane because of bike might.

  • Well, I might hit you.

  • One thing that's different in Germany is obviously the language.

  • In Germany, they don't speak English as their as the first language.

  • They speak German, but sometimes we see things in German that actually look very, very similar to English.

  • So if you look here, I don't know how to say this.

  • I really don't.

  • But this is a band name and here does M study on again.

  • I don't know how to say it, but it's actually very close to English.

  • Him most likely means in right when you think of study on kind of sound like stadium.

  • So it's saying of this person, I'm I'm pretty sure anyway, this person is in is in concert on this particular date here we even see a little if we go a little bit lower.

  • We see the world ticket right ticket is exactly the same, is exactly the same in English.

  • I'm sure they pronounce it differently in German, but it's really cool to see that and actually become with me.

  • Check this out.

  • Sometimes we even see we even see English that is used in advertisements like here from Barcelona with style.

  • So this style that they have this clothing style is clearly as they're saying It's from Barcelona and it's with style.

  • It's a very stylish thing from other things that you see very frequently in Germany are electric scooters.

  • You see bikes.

  • There are trains, and depending on where you are in Germany, it depends on the city.

  • Depends on where you are in the city.

  • Often the streets can be very bustling.

  • Bustling is a word for busy, and, um, basically, it's a word.

  • I think when the street is very busy and it's very energetic, there's a positive energy in the air.

  • So the squarer where I am today, where I am right now is definitely very bustle Overy, bustling and very lively.
