  • Hi.

  • Welcome to show me the curry dot com I'm Hittle and today I'm gonna show you how to make Sabuda Mike here now Subway.

  • Donna, if you're unfamiliar with it, is Tapia but also known as tapioca tapioca.

  • Be typical pearls.

  • And, uh, it's basically this little ball of starch.

  • It's machine made these little pearls and machine made, but when you cook them up, it becomes translucent, almost gummy, and it adds ah lot of thickness to things.

  • And if you powder it, it's even used as a binding agents.

  • A lot of good uses for it, and the reason that we're using it today is that it is one of the allowed foods when you're fasting.

  • A lot of times we're looking for desserts when we're fasting and something like rice care would be not allowed because rice is not and allowed food for fasting, and this is a great replacement.

  • It's also a quicker recipe, so it's gonna cook up a lot faster than rice care and pretty simple ingredients and a pretty simple process.

  • So here's what we did with the tapioca pearls.

  • I have 1/2 a cup of the dry tapioca, which I soaked in water for about two hours.

  • Now you don't have to soak it about two hours.

  • You couldn't even get away with maybe an hour.

  • So but basically the tapioca pearls kind of double in size and they get really fluffy like this.

  • And once they get to this level, they're ready.

  • Teeth.

  • So on my stove right here, I have a heavy bottom pan steel pan.

  • And what I did is I added just a little bit of water and swirled it around and dumped it out.

  • And there's a few droplets left in there right now.

  • And what this is gonna do is kind of help prevent the milk from sticking inside there.

  • So to the pan, I'm gonna add four cups of milk and I'm gonna heat this milk up on a medium heat and let it come to a boil.

  • You sure you've been stirring in between and once it comes to a boy can reduce the temperature to a low and continue cooking until the milk reduces and add a few strands of suffering.

  • Gives it a nice flavor and color, and we're gonna add about 1/4 cup of sugar.

  • And that's to taste, you can sweeten it up more.

  • You can try it and sweeten it up as you go.

  • But we're gonna start with about 1/4 cup.

  • And once this river is melted in, we can add are so tapioca or settle down.

  • And as the tapioca or sub Madonna cooks is gonna get translucent and then almost like a clear shade, and it also becomes a little gummy, and the whole mixture will start to thicken up.

  • You can see in just a few minutes it's already starting to think enough.

  • We can add a tablespoon or two of dried nuts.

  • I have pistachios and cashews, and once the cure has been cooking for about 10 minutes or so, you can see it's thickened up.

  • We can go ahead and add in some crushed Carter cardamom powder that's gonna produce an amazing fragrance.

  • So the Sabbath obamacare is ready to serve now.

  • There's a couple of things that you want to remember when you're making this is that it can be served hot or it can be served chilled.

  • So the natural tendency for sub Madonna or tapioca when it chills is to get thicker and thicker and thicker.

  • so I like mine chilled, so I like to keep it a little on the liquidy side so that when I actually chill it and it comes out of the refrigerator, it's not just a big clump, so he don't want it like that.

  • But if you kind of keep it a little liquidy like this, then when it comes out of the refrigerator, it's still it's got a really creamy and nice texture and consistency.

  • Um, if you're going to serve it hot and you like it hot, then my suggestion would be to boil the milk a little longer and make sure that milk reduces somewhat before you add the tapioca in there and then cook it for a little bit.

  • And it should be just the perfect consistency to have it hot.

  • So those are the two things to remember.

  • You could always garnish with some additional suffering strands, and that's really pretty.

  • It's going to give it a nice little suffering tinge to it.

  • Oranges tinge, and it just it smells heavenly, the cardamom powder, really at the end, if you put it at the beginning and kinds of cooks off the flavor but right at the end.

  • It's fresh and gives this big pop of fragrance, and it's amazing to smile right now.

  • So this is ready.

  • I'm gonna give it a try.

  • See this beautiful, translucent beads?

  • Mmm, It was yummy.

  • The tapioca pearl just kind of melt in your mouth and gives a little bit of resistance and then melts in your mouth.

  • So delicious now, Like I said, the sugar is completely to taste.

  • When I tasted this again while I was making it, I did added additional two tablespoons of sugar.

  • But a lot of people don't like your sweets very sweet, and so you can scale back.

  • Or you can add on completely up to you.

  • So another great recipe for fasting when you're fasting or even when you're not, it's a fabulous easy dessert recipe.

  • You could make this ahead of time kind of keeping your fridge and ready for your guests when they come, or even for your family.

  • It's It's a super easy and super delicious dessert.
