Hello and welcome to Inside Edition.

I'm Deborah Norville.

This was my first day at Inside Edition's The Date, March 6 1995.

Like many working moms, I had to juggle a family and a career.

Then came the birth of my third baby, and the producers asked me to anchor the show from the maternity ward.

About nine hours ago, I became the mother of this little girl.

Michaela Katarina.

She's fine.

I'm fine.

My husband thinks I'm crazy to be doing this, but as they say, the show must go on for 25 years.

Inside Edition's Given May a front row seat to the biggest stories of our time.

It is, without question, the darkest day in America's history.

I think he's doing good.

We're gonna have a pop quiz.

I've warned a lot of hats.

The bells are tolling.

The crowd is screaming and roaring, its approval and a lot of uniforms.

Here come the passengers.

When they said make a music video, I was game and I wrote the song.

And in 2000 I spent five days in the toughest jail in America, everybody and Deborah with riel criminals and no special treatment.

It was just a cz awful is it?

Looked over the years we've brought you many medical stories, Girls born with a one in a 1,000,000 heart defect.

And it was quite an eye opener when my own medical drama became one of them a long time ago, and Inside Edition viewer reached out to say she'd seen something on my neck.

It was a lunk.

We monitored that lump and eventually it tested positive for thyroid cancer.

The area where the thyroid is located is also where the nerves that control your voice box is located.

And let's face it, I talk for a living.

So it was very, very scary for me.

One thing I've learned over these past 25 years is gratitude on the power of positive thinking.

My dear friend, the late Joan Rivers lived by it.

I hope it's a lesson to everybody.

Things come around in your life if you just keep trying.

So this little girl from Georgia with big dreams has seen a lot.

Now, after 25 years, who knows what's next?
