earlier today I got a call from a guy who wants to sell his 1996 Harley.
96 road King was a bike built by Harley specifically to go on long distance rides.
I mean, this bike you could hop on in San Francisco.
Dr it straight to New York.
No problem.
I got this motorcycle so me and my ex girlfriend would be ableto go riding.
The keyword is ex girlfriend.
It wasn't a good break up selling the bike to me.
It's like saying goodbye to the past and starting over.
So what can you tell me about the bike?
It's 96 road king.
It's got probably everything you can imagine.
Chromed on a custom paint, rear ends lowered aftermarket corbin feet.
How many miles are on it?
Just over 17,000.
I love everything about this bike.
It's a Harley.
It's got low miles.
I hate is the paint job.
Anything has pink flames?
What you looking to do with it?
Sell it?
Yeah, I'd like to sell it.
What are you looking to get out of it?
I'd like to give 15 for it.
15 is just not gonna happen, man.
If you want to get rid of the bike, man.
I'll give you five for five.
The problem with it is man is I don't know very many bikers coming in here looking for red bikes with pink flames, because I'm gonna have to repaint this thing that doesn't constitute $10,000 difference, though I think six is a fair face beams us guys are killing me.
That's way too low.
I mean, I'll come up a little bit and do 88 and 13 year old bike with 17,000 miles.
Said, Man, I'm gonna be stuck in a A thousand's not exactly what I was opened for, but I can get rid of those bad memories with that.
All right, man, deal.
8000.
It is cool was awesome.
Thanks, man.
This hardly definitely has more basic, classic look now than it did before.
And I think it's gonna be a lot easier for you guys to sell.
What's the damage?
$1500.
I think it gets out for 12 to $14,000.
After the paint job.
We're only in this bike 9500.
That means we should make a least three grand off the spike letter job.
What kind of tour we got today, man?
1941 Indian.
This is cool.
I called the guys from the pawn shop down today.
Thio, come take a look at my 1941 Indian.
So left hand throttle.
That's cool.
This is definitely a military version.
The bike is beautiful.
It's It appears to be about 90% there.
It's just a matter of restoring every little piece to make it that high end quality that it should be.
So what's your verdict?
Well, you're probably gonna put somewhere between four and five grand into making her really, really pretty when it's finished.
It should be worth somewhere around 17.
$18,000 somewhere that ballpark.
Okay, so how much you want for it?
I was asking 12.
Okay, More like eight.
Eight.
I mean, you gotta realize people don't want a fixer upper.
You know, if we cut to the chase and quit the haggling, could you do 10?
This market nine's gonna be what I can do.
Nine is a little low.
How about 95?
I'm stretching their I'm not gonna lose the bike over 500 bucks, but I'll take it.
Deal deal.
All right, son.
You bought it.
You load it up.
This bike is awesome.
We should turn a nice profit.
Now we're gonna drop it off a Danny shop so he can get the work.
Shannon, Come on, brother.
Bring it in.
Gonna dig this?
Yeah, that's nice.
You guys wanted it.
Authentic rights.
What's got the Thompson and grenades?
That's amazing, dude.
Amazing.
I absolutely love it.
Can you believe it's the same Light came out great.
It really looks like this came out of World War Two.
How much this thing cost me to fix.
We quoted Rick about five grand for basic restoration, but or we got really carried away when you bought this.
You guys paid like 95 for it.
We've got about $14,000 in it right now.
But the flip side of the coin, I firmly believe you could get 30 at this bike.
Absolutely.
I feel shaped sweet.
I guess that's not bad.
I'm checking out an old Harley that I want to buy chum for his birthday.
This is it, huh?
This is it.
1985 efforts are s I'm selling my 1985 Harley Davidson FX our little writer.
I have a lot of work done to my bike.
$7500 just in the engine alone.
I'm interested in newer bikes, but I'm also moving due to my job, so I don't want to keep it any longer.
How much you looking to get out of it?
You got to give me, like, nine.
You got a lot of work into it, but I just can't pay that much, man.
I maybe like five grand tell.
No, no, no, no.
I'm saying, like, 78 I'm willing to go up to 65 because of the work you've had done to the motor.
65 Bottom line, huh?
Is that most?
I'm gonna pay for it, dude.
Huh?
You beat me up on this one, man.
I'll take that 65.
I'll be back a little later.
Pick it up.
Alright, man.
Appreciate it.
I'm pretty stoked about getting the spike.
I'm pretty sure charm's gonna love it.
And if he doesn't?
Hell, I'm keeping it for myself.
Triple black pain trip, black rims, black bars.
You know, I thought you guys forgot about me.
My cake.
Dude, we got your bike.
This is definitely the best birthday present ever.
Here's the Indian motorcycle collection I told you about.
These were just bad ass.
This is nuts, man.
I love any motorcycle.
Since I was a kid, it will typically be 5 to 8 years on a restoration.
And really, they're all labours of love for me.
I would like to see 300 to 350,000 north.
OK, so let's walk around, do the tour.
So this one's 1911.
That's in 1911.
Damn, this is a 1917 Indian twin.
Cool and that's, Ah, old Chief 1934.
This'd an early scout.
This is a 1930.
The one that I ride the most is the 1947.
That's another chief right Third, That's another chief, and this is one of the motorcycles that most people associate Indian motorcycles with.
So how much do you want for these?
I mean, you start throwing the numbers here, Some of them I haven't written very much, so you take 250 for all of them.
Probably not.
Cory's like a kid in a candy store who wants all the candy or with 1917 the 1917 I would consider selling.
Yes, that is rare.
Three of those known to exist.
I'll give you 50 cash for it.
I'd cry doing it, but I take 60.
Let me give you 55 grand.
59.
55,000 57 5 You got a deal?
I feel all right.
All right.
I think I could get a lot of money for this bike.
It is really weird, is really rare.
And it pisses me off a little bit because the guy would have gone to 57.
Cory just threw $500 in a toilet.
