  • you gotta remember this Build the one I surprised fill with that it was actually Hiss apparently wasn't good enough.

  • You wouldn't change the cooler and he changed the fans.

  • And, yeah, we have some custom stuff will be testing out today for the system to see if we can't cool it down.

  • Because although the fantex shift is amazing chassis aesthetically, it suffers from the same fatal flaws that the early evolves did, which was just not enough air flows.

  • We've got a couple of product.

  • We're retesting here, one from Fantex and one for a company called Mod.

  • My mods.

  • Remember I did this building.

  • I was like a mod my mods.

  • Remember when you guys made the custom panels for the evolve?

  • Any chance of doing it for the shift?

  • Well, they were like, Yes, today's video is brought to you by cable want and the cable wad configuration.

  • If you want custom cables for your computer, you want them custom made with your colors and your choices and your config is you can do that on the cable mud configuration.

  • The support all major brands of PS use both modular and semi modular, and you can have cable extensions made, but the best part is previously they offered aluminum cable combs and on Lee black and whites.

  • But now you can get them in various colors.

  • So if you want to take your system to the next step and really make it pop, get some custom cables and make him your way with the cable mod configuration, you could start playing around that by using the link in the description below.

  • Okay, so here's the build right here.

  • If you guys don't remember or you didn't see part, I say part one of war.

  • We built this, then you guys should definitely go and take a look at that.

  • So you understand the arrangement of parts we're dealing with here.

  • This is a very unique chassis and that it's an I T X that sits upright, so it's got a very small footprint.

  • We've got an A on the bottom, pulling air up.

  • That's going to be for the GPU on the side right here.

  • Bring air in this way.

  • Through this gap, we have the I owe for the CPU, which is up here.

  • That's a NZX.

  • See cooler.

  • So we've got kind of this sort of ah, convergence of air.

  • And then he also switched the chassis, fanned around right here instead of being a dual intake, as we were trying to cram as much air in here is possible.

  • It is an exhaust which is going to help pull some of the hot air out from the bottom as well as some fresh air in from the top.

  • Theoretically.

  • So we've got a couple of things will be testing here, which are the new heir panels for the shift.

  • So fantex actually came out to talk about this A competent we've got these air panels here which are designed to replace the glass panels, which it's kind of unfortunate, because that's sort of like the best part of the case, in my opinion.

  • Um, but as you can see right here, they are just mesh like a, I guess, kind of a fabric mesh.

  • They're very similar to like what you find on a speaker grill, and they replace the side glass right there, making it much more, um, more of an open chassis.

  • Now, I don't think this is going to give us any actual benefit in our current situation here.

  • This would be more so if you had an air cooler, you know, down fire cooler on the CPU that you're not gonna really fit a standard cooler here would be a down fire, like a knock tour or something, and then an air cooled GPU pulling in air from the outside.

  • That's about the only way I could see these being beneficial.

  • Given the situation that we have, where the air is being pulled in from the bottom and then from this channel, this isn't going to affect that.

  • At least that's the theory here.

  • But before we can say that we have to get our baselines.

  • So Phil has a custom fan profile set up on here for the sake of testing because I am very curious as to what maximum cooling capability is of this and trying to keep this as variable free as possible.

  • We are just gonna be going to full speed on the Aye, aye, sweet for the fans because we want to find our best case scenario here.

  • And then Phil can go in and fine tune it, knowing he can cheat, achieve at least this if he's willing to give up all noise and acoustics for the sake of airflow.

  • And then he could turn it down from there.

  • And just however he wants.

  • So rather than saying OK where the fans are only running 60% here's the results.

  • We don't know what the max results were.

  • If we don't go to full home 100% eso, we also we're going to be doing the same thing for our graphics card right here.

  • Put it to 100%.

  • Both our fans air link for the graphics card because this is an E v g a hybrid card.

  • We have to fans that we can control one for the actual radiator itself, as well as the onboard fan that's responsible for blowing air over the theorems on the DVD a card itself.

  • So some may Iose admit the fan entirely.

  • VJ does not.

  • So we actually have those link right now, and they're both running 100%.

  • So this up here on the top right is actually a custom.

  • You why that film made so that he can keep an eye on his temperatures and it actually goes to this screen right there.

  • In fact, I'll kind of drag it over here to show you like that.

  • So he just kind of keeps that there at all times.

  • Pretty neat.

  • He made that little that little screen do hickey thing.

  • So it's always showing It's just a dual monitor plugged into an HD am I So currently are CPU is sitting at 35 and our GP is sitting at 29.

  • We're gonna have to do individual testing here.

  • Okay, So we just had a huge, huge development right now.

  • Nothing to do with this crap we're talking about here.

  • I fix it.

  • Followed me on Twitter, baby, not to buy me anymore.

  • I fix it.

  • Kids for Father's Day.

  • You see Father's Day?

  • A couple years ago, my wife actually bought me this kit.

  • She bought me two of these kids, actually, and I use it for all my tear downs and stuff.

  • Okay, so here's what we're sort of flatlined here.

  • Are didn't die.

  • You know, I'm trying to say, um 64 c on the GPU entirely too hot for a water cooled gp.

  • Even if it is only 120 millimeter there.

  • And we're bouncing all around on the temperature on CP because the loads changing, but you could see right there.

  • It's in the fifties high fifties low sixties at times, but that's bouncing all over the place.

  • See, there's 60 63 on the GPU, so that's pretty much flattened out back in the 64.

  • So we're gonna do now, remember, that's best case scenario.

  • The fan is a 100%.

  • So we're gonna do now is we're going to do a CPU test, and the way we're gonna do that is we're gonna go ahead and first go full speed on the fans.

  • Cool the system down, and then we're gonna set center bench are 20 to just do a complete looping run.

  • We gotta make sure we put all 16 threads back on that.

  • Okay, so no test just started in 86.

  • Appears to be about as hot as we're getting here.

  • Um, I mean, it's still not terrible.

  • Even though we are over clock is for all core right now, it's not really dropping clocks.

  • It only drops in between the scenes.

  • As you can see.

  • Right there, the temperature gray line is pretty consistent.

  • 105 Cesaire, TJ Maxx, our thermal junction that's where it will start to dramatically drop clocks.

  • So although this is not like incredibly hot, it's still a lot harder than we'd like to see a water cold Money 100 k.

  • Although it is only 120 millimeter radiator, keep in mind, it's still running full speed.

  • So if I go ahead and load his profile now, we're into the same thing we did last time on There's any point doing the test because it just went right back up because, I mean, Phil's curb, obviously once again on here looks just like it did on afterburner where it was very steep.

  • So we're going to do now is we're just gonna We're gonna stop the test.

  • We're gonna keep the fans running 100%.

  • And what we're gonna do now is we're gonna let it cool down, and we're gonna put on the mesh panels.

  • So have a mesh panel on either side of it like that.

  • Which way, quite honestly, believe, will not do a damn thing for cooling.

  • In our scenario here.

  • If there were air cooled system, probably a completely different story, because this front panel it's solid panel, just this gap right here to both bring air in and push air out to this.

  • This upper fan, it's just that's not a very big gap.

  • So to install the air panels, which is kind of dumb here, you've got to take off these little grommets here.

  • And that kind of sucks because they didn't make Gromit, I guess.

  • Like the whole numbers that come on the air, the air panels, they don't fit in there.

  • There is an awful lot of air actually coming here.

  • I mean, there's more air flow in this quite honestly than I was expecting.

  • Um, all right, so So if you buy the evolve shift air, I believe I mean, these are the panels that you'll get, like, I feel like they should have just mailed this out and put a mesh front.

  • But then, Mom, my mods wouldn't have the opportunity.

  • So, as expected, we're permitted the same temperatures.

  • We were 62 friends between 61 62 2040 megahertz on the course speed, which I believe is what we were before.

  • The nice thing about water cooled gravis cards.

  • For whatever reason, that stays way more consistent than air cooled car doesn't bounce around as much.

  • So we're gonna do now because we know there's no change.

  • There were but the glass panels.

  • At least this glass panel back on.

  • Phil wants to leave.

  • There's definitely heat.

  • So come out of there.

  • Phil wants to leave the event on the back, but put the glass on the side that he looks at, and then we're gonna do the custom of my mods part.

  • The whole reason we made this video, um, but before that, I forgot to do C P test well ahead of myself here.

  • So shut up.

  • Found No, I'm So it actually looks like it's slightly cooler cause when we're hitting like 86 85 that's about a solid four.

  • C foresee reduction.

  • It's definitely a lot cooler air coming out of here, So let's go ahead and put on that front panel.

  • Now, The cool thing about mob my mods is there a company of people just like me?

  • Although smarter, Um, what I mean by that is they are driven enthusiasts and they saw our video Where we built this now is like a you guys making panels for this case because if so, we really like some.

  • And these exist now because he was like, Hey, we're seeing some demand for this in your video.

  • Kind of spiked up some of that demand again.

  • So if you're interested, we'll go ahead and make the panels.

  • So I believe we only have a front panel here.

  • We were like, there's no point in giving us the back channels that So that is what we're left with This.

  • So what we've got right here, basically is a milled panel using the exact same panel that you get from fantasies are sourced from the company.

  • So, as you can see, if we take a look at the inside, they mill this out and they gave us a choice of designs.

  • And obviously this is CNC mill, which is why it's precision.

  • They've got a grill like a fan filter on the back right here.

  • But let's go ahead and get this bad boy on here.

  • So So it feels a lot like me.

  • He he doesn't like to run dust filters.

  • He'd rather clean a system and get better airflow.

  • I'm the same way.

  • So I think we're gonna remove this filter from here.

  • I'm fairly certain It's just pinched underneath the plastic pieces here.

  • But I wanted to do a little bit of kind of a pressure test right here.

  • Sort of like when you put your hand over the end of a vacuum cleaner and you hear the motor just go through the roof because there's there's no more wind resistance that the motor and the blades or haven't deal with.

  • Same thing kind of happens here with the actual fans.

  • But let's just hear the Europeans change slightly.

  • Well, let's just compare to the stock one.

  • Remember?

  • Phil did take the side filters out right here.

  • You're ready.

  • Listen.

  • So our test on the GPU are pretty much the same with them.

  • Maxed out 2040 61 cm there.

  • So we're still hitting 83 c 82 83 it will hit 84 for, like a second there.

  • It's pretty much plateau now on the temperature.

  • She was 84.

  • I honestly believe the filter on this.

  • It's so fine that that's just it looks like they're replaying airflow, but the filters blocking more than half the opening that was made into this.

  • So we only have, like, 20 or 25% more airflow is the most.

  • So I'm gonna do right now is I'm gonna take this panel off while the test is running.

  • And I'm just now going to see what happens with our temperatures.

  • Yeah, see it right here.

  • So we know for a fact that although the milling on this will allow more airflow, I think the fate of the filter needs to come out of this.

  • What do you think?

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Who would've thought?

  • My trusty I fix the kid was in so much use in this video, so Oh, it's tearing now.

  • Sorry, Phil.

  • It's not going back in now.

  • Sorry, Mom.

  • My mods guys.

  • Um So there's how much air is being blown by that fan with no filter.

  • There's the filter.

  • There's no filter, There's the filter.

  • So that's why we took the filter out.

  • So 72 73 is where we sort of balanced.

  • I mean, that is 12 Celsius improvement that day.

  • That just shows you how restrictive that filter is.

  • So we're seeing it bounced around between 75 78 now, depending on what part of the test that it's in, it's starting a new test right now.

  • Actually, I think we just ran out of time.

  • Okay, so I was 15 minutes with the testing.

  • We're starting it up again.

  • We'll see where it spikes up to the water's nice and warm in already.

  • So there we are, 75 76 seven because in the fact that we were seeing 84 85 um, that's anywhere between 8 to 10.

  • See improvement by cutting out the filter.

  • Yes, we've got heaven going, and we're going to have seen a bench going at the same time, and we need to see what happens to our temperatures.

  • And just for a reminder, I'll put our previous Max is up there 91 71.

  • Where the maxims.

  • All right, so we've been running for quite a while now.

  • I think scrimmage leveled out.

  • You can see by looking at the charts right there.

  • Sit on benches.

  • So running with 12 threads for threads dedicated to heaven.

  • So 65 81 this is roughly where we've been sort of plateau.

  • You'll see.

  • It says 82.

  • It'll come back to 81 65.

  • It will drop down to like 63 come back 2 65 compared to our baseline with the exact same fan curves.

  • And you could see that right here.

  • 353,500 B R E m 1993 1992 Bouncing in 2000 for 29 86.

  • So it's actually running slightly slower.

  • I don't know why that is.

  • It's maxed out.

  • But that was Oh, yeah, because it was spinning higher because of more restriction.

  • OK, so we now know how much of a restriction there was.

  • About 400 rpm works the restriction.

  • We kind of tested everything along the way to get here because I didn't wanna have a lot of questions like, Well, what if you just did this?

  • What if you just did that?

  • Obviously, the front panel with the filter installed made very little difference.

  • You guys saw how restricted those filters are once the filter was gone.

  • Now you've got the results that we were expecting.

  • So, guys, Thanks for watching this video.

  • Huge.

  • Thank you to mock my mods are sending us this front panel and actually responding to that video making this for Phil.

  • Are you happy?

  • It's your computer now.

  • Are you happy with these temperatures?

  • Okay, Cool.

  • Um, you gotta put your little panel back in the side now and stuff, so time to go on.

  • Get out of here.

  • Don't forget, we do have merch for sale.

  • And on top of that, we have a link down the bottom where you guys confined your very own.

  • I fix it.

  • Get Dutilleux.

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • D'oh!

  • Order room Captain's log, Stardate 4 to 649.2 1st when you take a look at this sexiness.
