  • Joey's dad, Daniel, and Big T are in Froggy Bayou

  • to snag some gator bait--

  • bullfrogs.

  • If these alligators want to eat frogs,

  • it's going to be frogs.

  • NARRATOR: Normally, the boys would hunt this Cajun delicacy

  • for their own dinner tables.

  • But they quickly discover they're not the only ones

  • after frogs tonight.

  • They got five alligators for every frog we see.

  • [splash]

  • I saw the frog.

  • And then I saw that alligator splash.

  • Frogs typically are caught by hand.

  • But, this particular night, there's a lot of alligators.

  • We got to be real careful.

  • NARRATOR: Louisiana law forbids hunting gators after sundown.

  • So the boys can only watch as the beasts enjoy a frog feast.

  • I got an alligator with a frog in his mouth.

  • He's eating that sucker.

  • Caught the frog right in front of us.

  • That's what they living on.

  • That's why they're in here.

  • That's a big frog right there.

  • That's a big one.

  • [splash]

  • Whoa, T. That was a close call.

  • NARRATOR: Thanks to the gator population explosion,

  • there's beasts swimming everywhere.

  • I've been going to Froggy Bayou.

  • Years and years ago, I might see eight alligators.

  • And then now, every direction, everywhere you see,

  • everywhere you stop, there's an alligator here.

  • There's one here.

  • There's one here.

  • It's real dangerous.

  • Let's get another one, buddy.

  • That's a big one.

  • Another big one.

  • Good job, T.

  • Got him.

  • You got him, buddy.

  • That's a big frog.

  • That alligator's trying to get him.

  • We've got to run lines some more, so what

  • don't we call it a night, T.

  • Yeah.

  • I wonder if he'd eat fried frog legs.

  • NARRATOR: Daniel and Big T are checking to see if their frog

  • bait is luring in big bulls.

  • Let's see if it's going to pay off.

  • It's got a little weight to him, T.

  • Got a lot of bubbles.

  • [water bubbling]

  • Frog's doing the trick, buddy.

  • [music playing]

  • [grunts] Mm!

  • [water splashing]

  • Pull, T, pull!

  • [grunts]

  • That's a big one.

  • [grunts]

  • Oh, he bit the boat.

  • Watch him, T.

  • [grunts] T, I'm going to get you a shot.

  • Getting a shot on this thing.

  • Look at the size of that thing.

  • We put a frog on the hook, and we've got him.

  • It looks like our plan is working, and that's excellent.

  • Our pile of frogs turned into a pile of alligators,

  • didn't it?

  • Yep, sure did.

  • T and I have had a little bit of trouble catching some.

  • But, at the end of the day, it's worth it.

  • Man, that's some big alligators.
